A world-class hub for international trade shows and congresses, the RAI combines massive scale with a strategic location just minutes from Schiphol Airport and the city centre.

The Venue
Europe’s Premier Event Hub
RAI Amsterdam is a massive complex of exhibition and conference halls situated in the Zuidas business district. Spanning a total floor space of 112,200 square metres, the venue is a cornerstone of the Dutch event industry, hosting roughly 2 million visitors every year. The complex is designed for versatility, featuring 22 conference rooms and 11 multi-functional halls that accommodate everything from intimate seminars to global trade exhibitions.
The facility is renowned for its logistical efficiency and modern amenities. It serves as the primary site for approximately 70 trade shows and 50 international conferences annually. The largest and most historic space, the Europahal RAI, can hold up to 12,900 people, making it a landmark for major gatherings in the Netherlands since the early 1960s.

Legacy
From Bicycles to Global Business
The name RAI stands for 'Rijwiel en Automobiel Industrie,' reflecting its origins as an association for the bicycle and automobile industry. The current complex at Europaplein opened its doors in 1961, marking a significant expansion in Amsterdam's capacity to host large-scale commercial events. Over the decades, it has evolved from a local exhibition hall into an international business destination.
By February 2001, the RAI had welcomed its 75 millionth visitor, cementing its status as one of the most visited venues in Europe. Its architectural development has mirrored the growth of the surrounding Zuidas district, transforming from a peripheral site into a central node of Amsterdam's economic activity.
